Executive Assistant and Coordinator of Special Projects
Rhode Island School for Progressive Education (RISPE) seeks a full-time Executive Assistant and Coordinator of Special Projects to join our team. This role will provide critical, high-level support to RISPE’s President. In addition, it will have contact with all areas of the organization in the form of specific projects related to programming, operations, development, and more. This opportunity is suitable for a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who possesses initiative, project management skills, and a commitment to equity.
Responsibilities of this role include:
Supporting RISPE’s President:
Support executive communications and correspondence, including taking calls, responding to emails, and drafting letters, while ensuring prompt, accurate, and appropriate responses
Format, proofread, and help prepare internal and external documents and presentations
Manage the President’s calendar, organize meeting logistics, and coordinate travel when necessary
Develop and maintain filing systems
Other duties as assigned
Special Projects:
Support recruitment efforts as needed for RISPE programming
Support the Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships as needed with scheduling external meetings and preparing grant proposals and/or reports
Support the Vice President of Operations and Student Services as needed with collecting tuition payments, maintaining files, and scheduling
Coordinate logistics for organization-wide events as needed
Qualifications for this role are as follows:
Commitment to anti-racism and diversifying the teacher pipeline
At least 2 years of documented administrative experience. Previous nonprofit and/or project management experience is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, including time management, file organization, and scheduling
Willingness to take initiative and “jump in” when necessary
The Rhode Island School for Progressive Education (RISPE) is Rhode Island’s first residency-style graduate school of education. RISPE was developed over four years with generous support from the Rhode Island Foundation and the United Way of Rhode Island, and received unanimous approval from the Rhode Island Council on Postsecondary Education in March 2019. RISPE’s goal is to improve outcomes for all students in Rhode Island’s urban public schools by diversifying the teacher pipeline, employing an anti-racist curriculum, and using best practices that have been piloted and proven in public schools across the region to train and prepare highly effective teachers for Rhode Island’s urban public schools.
